Aaron
Ong

Biomedical & mechanical engineer turned systems thinker — helping people unlock clarity, courage, and purpose.

"The meaning of my life is to help others find the meaning of theirs."
Aaron Ong

Engineer who
builds humans,
not just machines.

I'm a mechanical engineer with roots in bioinspired robotics and a deep interest in human psychology and philosophy. My career has taken me from UC San Diego's robotics lab to Harvard, and across some of the world's most ambitious companies — Blue Origin, Tesla, and SpaceX.

But the work I find most meaningful isn't about hardware. It's about helping early-career engineers and builders find their signal in the noise — developing courage, clarity, and a life rooted in purpose rather than comfort.

I founded ZenithX to scale the lessons I've learned the hard way — applying Maslow's framework to human potential in an age of distraction and overstimulation.

Build a life toward mastery, not comfort.

01

Systems Thinking

Everything is interconnected. The way you approach a design problem, a career move, or a relationship follows the same underlying logic. Understanding systems is the most transferable skill there is.

02

Maslow Applied

Most people are stuck at survival mode — professionally and emotionally. By mapping Maslow's hierarchy to modern life, we can identify exactly where someone is stuck and what they need next.

03

Reflection as Practice

Experience without reflection is just time passing. The most compounding investment you can make is building in deliberate time to integrate what life is teaching you.

What people say.

"I first connected with Aaron when I was preparing for my next job after Milwaukee Tool. Even though we had never met, he generously offered to coach me during his commutes for three weeks. He helped me build confidence, refine my resume, and share honest advice. Thanks to his guidance, I secured final offers from both Apple and Tesla. He remains one of the most impactful people I've met in my life."

Lucy C.
Sr. Technical Program Manager, Tesla
MIT, Mech. Engineering

"Aaron came and gave an excellent talk to my research group about navigating their careers after school. He was approachable and engaging, and combined a discussion of high-level motivations with specific tools and advice on how to be successful in a job search."

Michael T., Ph.D
Director Bioinspired Robotics and Design Lab
Professor UC San Diego Mech. Engineering

"I've known Aaron for nearly a decade, going back to our time in the same lab. Throughout that time, I've consistently seen him demonstrate a strong work ethic, ambition, and commitment to the projects he takes on. Aaron brings together real industry experience with a genuine interest in helping others improve and succeed."

Saurabh J., Ph.D
Sr. Robotics Engineer, Tesla Optimus
UC San Diego, Mech. Engineering

"Aaron mentored me during my transition from graduate school to industry. He provided practical guidance on resumes, interviews, and networking, but more importantly, helped me better understand and appreciate my previous experiences. Our conversations helped me gain clarity about my strengths."

Jiayao Y., Ph.D
Mechanical Engineer @ 1X Robotics
UC San Diego, Mech. Engineering

"I first met Aaron my 2nd year of undergrad at UCLA — he gave me a rude awakening of just how difficult it was to navigate industry. He taught me so much about being a proper engineer, everything from interview preparation to networking. He is an incredibly talented engineer who really tries hard to give you the best advice."

Connor L.
Mechanical Design Engineer, Cameras @ Tesla
UCLA Mech. Engineering

"Aaron has been an exceptional mentor, consistently available to answer questions no matter how complex. He is deeply dedicated to supporting others, even while leading his own projects. He continually works to strengthen the teams around him, enabling them to tackle increasingly complex challenges with confidence."

Leandre G.
Mechanical Design Engineer, Autopilot @ Tesla
Concordia University

"Aaron has been a reliable source of support as I balanced completing graduate school and the job search. He introduced me to Maslow's hierarchy of needs, which helped me stay grounded. His advice on resume writing, interviewing, and networking gave me a real confidence boost during a tough market."

Eric P.
Mechanical Design Engineer, Nexthop AI
UC Berkeley Mech. Engineering

"Aaron was my TA for Intro to Robotics at UC San Diego. He was always willing to help and very knowledgeable. I ended up joining the same research lab, where I saw how far his work ethic could go. He has a tremendous drive to achieve his goals — that's why he's had the opportunities to work at Harvard and Tesla."

Sebastian L., Ph.D
Robotics Scientist
UC Berkeley Mech. Engineering
